It was recently announced that Southern California’s most prestigious Extreme Enduro race will not be happening next year. Dave Cole from King Of The Hammers blamed logistics for the cancellation of the Moto portion of the week long event.
Dave Cole- “I’m addressing this email to all registered drivers and co-drivers from the 2018 season. By now, I’m sure most of you have heard about the schedule/event changes for KOH 2019. We are not going to bring Motos back. It was a joint decision that was made by Jimmy Lewis and myself after the 2018 race. I am working on a long term solution to have Motos race a stand alone event not part of the KOH week. With regards to the impact of bringing Desert Trucks to the event, it will affect us in several ways, most of them positive.”
Cody Webb who has won the event 3 times and had this to say- “Losing KOM is a bummer for sure. It’s an event with so much potential and exposure to place America among the elite races within the international hard Enduro circuit. I only hope that it will somehow come back in one way or another, whether it’s a stand alone event or alongside King of Hammers.”
