450 NATIONAL MX STANDINGS AFTER SOUTHWICK

Six rounds have come and gone now in the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, which means that six rounds now remain this summer. For this first half, it has been a tight battle for the points lead between Ken Roczen and Eli Tomac, but the last two weekends have seen Roczen fall of the pace by quite a bit. His mediocre performances have now not only allowed for Eli Tomac to get farther away in the championship lead, but now Marvin Musquin has taken over the number two spot in the points. Now, it’s only two points that separate Roczen and Musquin, but if Musquin keeps having as good of rides as he has been and Roczen keeps slipping back, this’ll be another championship that Ken will miss out on. On the other side of things, Eli Tomac has only won one of the last four motos, allowing Musquin to close in on him while also surpassing Kenny. This may not be that big of a problem yet, but if the trend continues, we could see the French rider take home the outdoor title. Enough speculating, though. Here’s how the 450 class points sit after the halfway point in the championship:  (for extended coverage of the 2019 Southwick National MX, click here).
