On this week’s 4-Stroke Project Spotlight we take a look back at a Husqvarna FC450 built with Donny “Lil D” Emler to pound out laps at his local motocross track in preparation for Loretta Lynn’s. His quest for a championship ended with a knee injury on the first day of racing but at least he looked factory doing it. We packed Thumper Theater with four different project bikes you don’t want to miss. Want to see a CRF250R converted into an off-road night racing weapon? The crew at Derestricted Graphics came up with a clean kit that gave Lil D’s machine that one-of-a-kind factory look. FMF Factory’s 4.1 titanium exhaust system features their resonance chamber technology with a mass-centralization design and a carbon fiber end allowing the use of a forestry-approved spark arrestor.

The P3 Carbon new Factory Replica plates offer extended coverage designed in collaboration with the factory team, combined with a sleek, fitted design and their new Husqvarna yellow bi-color carbon weave.

The Xtrig Revolutionary Opposing Clamp System (ROCS) is designed to improve the function of the fork and increase stability. This kit includes the Progressive Handlebar Damping System (PHDS), using elastomers to provide additional impact absorption. ODI Podium handlebars are made of 2014-T6 alloy and feature their patent-pending Controlled Flex Technology crossbar for additional impact absorption.

Boyesen’s Supercooler for the new-generation Husqvarna engines feature a cast-aluminum water-pump cover with bigger inlets, a sculpted design with less-restrictive corners and a more efficient impeller that reduces cavitation.

Sunstar’s Works Triplestar rear sprocket features computer-designed weight-reduction holes, black-color anodizing and their exclusive tooth-valley design, providing up to 50-percent better chain-roller contact area for maximum power transfer.

WP Factory Service re-valved and re-sprung both the front forks and rear shock for Lil D’s weight and speed. Guts Racing’s Phantom seat foam is super lightweight at only 120 grams and is wrapped in a blue ribbed seat cover complete with a Husqvarna logo.

Husqvarna offers a variety of hard parts for 2016 FC models, including grips, aluminum-anodized oil-filter cover, aluminum brake and clutch reservoir covers.

Nihilo Concept’s billet-aluminum gas cap has been designed to work with the stock internal parts and replaces the black plastic top. It has a bigger breather hole and a smaller size, so it fits tighter to the tank, taking up less room.

Dubya laced up a set of wheels featuring billet-aluminum Talon magnesium-colored hubs and D.I.D. DirtStar black rims. Dunlop MX32 tires are designed for intermediate-to-soft terrain utilizing Dunlop’s Carcass Tension Control system and Progressive Cornering Block technology on the rear tire.

Hinson’s billet-proof clutch features an inner hub, pressure plate, FSC clutch plate with spring kit and bulletproof clutch cover that is hard-coated for wear-resistance. P3 Carbon’s frame grip guards are a decal that provide frame protection and additional grip for the rider. Available in a bi-color weave or solid black.
