On this week’s Two-Stroke Tuesday we give everyone a behind the scenes look at out 2022 Yamaha YZ85 3-Bros Racing Glen Helen Endurance series bike build. The machine has now successfully completed the 6 Hour, finishing 3rd in class and 10 Hour, finishing 1st in class with test riders Kodiak Lehman, Zach Nova, Mike Trinidad and Jacob Tilley at the controls. So far on this project we have worked with industry leading companies like Yamaha, GYTR, Dunlop, Task Racing, Decal Works, P3 Carbon and PC Racing. Stay tuned for the next stage coming soon.
All builds look like this as some point. This was right before it started looking like a race bike. Dunlop MX33’s mounted on the GYTR wheel set and ready to be mounted on the bike.
Ready for action only a few short hours after the previous picture was taken. The Task Racing 10 inch light bar set up is crazy bright.
Here is another angle to show how the Task Racing light bar was mounted. If you have not used a Task Racing light system we highly recommend them. The universal design is simple to instal and they work amazing. The system on our YZ85 ran off an external battery located in the air box.
Even after the bike going down multiple times we had no issue with the Task Racing light set up. This system works great and is very affordable at right around $329-$384 complete. Check them out at www.taskracing.com
After ten brutal hours of racing our 2022 Yamaha YZ85 test machine looked ready for more.
Kodiak Lehman ready for his night session.
Well here is what 10 hours straight on a 2022 Yamaha YZ85 rear Dunlop MX33 looks like.
Pit manager Mike Nova patiently waiting for his son Zach to hand off the YZ85 to Kodiak Lehman.
A little customization in the lever bend department. Time for some folding ARC levers before the next race.
Kodiak Lehman in a 10 Hour Endurance Race daze just waiting for his turn on the bike.
Velcro quick access mount for the PC Racing Filter Skins. Great addition to any build.
Happy crew right after getting the checkered flag.
The P3 Carbon hand guard shields can take a beating ! Here they are mounted on Cycra reflex bar mounts.
Lehman, Tilley and Nova discuss late night pit strategy and when they are going to grab their free pancake breakfast provided by Glen Helen at 2am.
The GYTR wheel set comes complete with sprockets and brake rotors. This is 16 straight hours in some very hostile conditions on this chain and sprocket. Cant say GYTR/Yamaha doesn’t use quality products on their bikes.
After 10 hours of racing on a very tough course the Dirt Bike Magazine team of Jacob Tilley, Kodiak Lehman, Zach Nova and Mike Trinidad came out winners of the 85cc division. The 2022 Yamaha YZ85 and the team did an amazing job! Thanks to everyone involved that helped make this possible.
