2019 SPRING CREEK NATIONAL MX PREVIEW
After a weekend off, the 2019 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship returns to racing this weekend for round eight at Spring Creek MX Park in Millville, MN. The last round just two weeks ago in Buchanan, MI at the historic Red Bud MX track saw Eli Tomac grab his first since High Point almost a month earlier and Dylan Ferrandis dominate the 250 field, qualifying first in the practice sessions and then winning both motos. Their recent successes have progressed them in their respective championship standings, Tomac now with a 34 point lead over Marvin Musquin and Ferrandis just 25 points behind points leader Adam Cianciarulo. 450 class championship contender Ken Roczen has slowly moving further and further away from a run at his third motocross championship, slipping now to 40 points behind Eli in the lead. Justin Cooper has found himself in a similar, but less drastic situation, falling back 26 points behind Cianciarulo and one point behind his teammate Dylan Ferrandis. The last weekend off that the riders were given proved to be detrimental to some, including Justin Cooper, who found himself finishing 6th and 9th in the motos at the High Point National MX, but another week in he rebounded to grab his first career overall win. Will this weekend show the same results as the last time the racing took a break? We’ll find out tomorrow when the gate drops in Millville, MN.
