Star Yamaha’s Justin Cooper led every lap of 250 moto one at Fox Raceway, but it was never a runaway. He pulled the holeshot and his teammate Colt Nichols relentlessly pursued him through the early laps. Monster Energy Pro Circuit rider Adam Cianciarulo took a chance starting all the way outside and he simply couldn’t make it work. His start was mediocre, then he tried too hard on the first lap and lost ground. Hunter Lawrence and Jordon Smith were in third and fourth on the first lap, but their lines came together and they both fell.  Chase Sexton, RJ Hapshire and Christian Craig had a little Geico Honda party behind the two Yamaha riders. By the halfway point in the race, Cooper started to get away and Cianciarulo got back into the game. In the final laps, the best entertainment on the track was watching Cianciarulo’s wild attempts at passing Sexton. He did that, and both he and RJ Hampshire passed Nichols. In the end, the top five riders were separated by less than four seconds. For extended coverage from Fox Raceway, click here.
