2009 Los Ancianos Tecate Hare Scrambles

If you haven’t already heard, the Tecate Hare Scrambles is returning this Saturday, December 5, 2009. We apologize for the short notice, but thought you might like to know the race is back in ’09 and there’s still an opportunity to sign up. If you don’t have anything on the calendar for this weekend, come on down and join us for the 2009 Los Ancianos Tecate Hare Scrambles.

The course this year is on new land, made available to us by a long time club friend. This land incorporates trails that haven’t been used in 20 years – since the days of the famous Tecate Enduro.

The race is located at the same location as the 2007 race – approximately 6 miles Southeast of Hacienda Rancho Santa Veronica. Directions are available on the Los Ancianos website.

The schedule is as follows:

9:00 AM Session – International Sportsman, Women and Ironmen classes
– Two hour duration
– Approx 12 mile loop
– Fun course with moderate difficulty

1:00 PM Session – Pro, A, B, Ironmen classes
– Two hour session
– Approx 24 mile loop
– Very challenging course. Be prepared to work!

Registration is open at the race location on Friday from 3:30 PM – 7:00 PM. Registration will be open the morning of the race at 7:00 AM.

We’re introducing an ironman class this year, which will compete in both the morning and afternoon sessions – 4 long hours of tough Tecate single track. As an added incentive, RaceSolo.com has offered up a $300 purse for the first overall ironman (overall finish is based on the best times from the morning and afternoon sessions).

You can learn more about the race, including times, location and directions at the Los Ancianos website: www.losancianos.com

Again, we apologize for the short notice. If you’re not able to join us this year, we hope you have a great Holiday and New Year. See you in 2010!

-Los Ancianos M.C.
