BLAST FROM THE PAST
On the Southern California scene Tim Lunde was one our top motocrossers and could take his game to anyone of the big tracks that we had at the time (Carlsbad, Lyons, Ascot, Indian Dunes, Valley Cycle Park). This is Saddleback 1975, and Tim is on his Norris Roberts sponsored HondaCR125. Once again, danke Mark Kiel-great shot!
ISDE QUICK TAKES
Just thought I’d give our boys a little more love for their stunning victory!! Thanks to Mark Kariya for pics, he is the best off-road shooter in the business. In order that’s the overall winner Taylor Robert, Kailub Russell, Thad Duvall and Layne Michael’s. GREAT EFFORT!
LOOTED FROM THE SOCIAL WORLD
How many of you knew that LR raced motocross in Belgium? You wonder why he became America’s top ISDE racer.

The JUST 1 helmets guys had some nice new graphics mated to their super light lids.
This Point Air Jacket self inflates during impacts. Is this the new wave of protection?

Vemar’s $129.95 helmet is super light and has great graphics

INSIDE MY GARAGE
This is such a classic bike, a full FMF Honda CR125. I actually saw this photo and put up in my garage and it’s interesting because she is clearly sano, the pipe is unique (the end cones and outlet to the chamber appear one off) and the red color was used by Donnie Emler on his team bikes for a short time. An interesting note here is the Al Baker sticker on the pipe- Al bought FMF and ran it for a short time. The porcupine head is wicked!
This is just outside my garage, it’s Jack (my Jack Russell terrier) and he’s embarrassed by his head gear that’s required for 10-days following his untimely launching out of my side by side. A good head garf and a hematoma in his ear make Simple Jack an unhappy boy.
This isn’t a garage shot, but from my Physical Therapy building. Mike Kiedrowski’s jersey adorns a wall of fame and every time I start to squeal when they’re working on me they say “Mike never sniveled…”
WOLF: BACK IN THE DAY
The Wolf, 1978 and my YZ400 (converted to an IT look with blue plastic and an IT tank. I raced this bike for one year and won a National Enduro (New Mexico) and placed well enough in several other Nationals to gain AA status. I fit it with an ICO speedo, a 17-inch rear wheel and raced it in over 35 enduros that year. And with the gear- I stole this Ake Jonsson Replica jersey from brother Mike, sewed on a Bel Ray patch, wore Hallman boots and Griffs leathers. Notice the army issue canteen; water is survival in the desert and I learned to never race without it.
